Renting a textbook from Amazon is a fairly simple procedure. First, go to Amazon’s textbook rental website. You can browse by title, ISBN, or category using the interface. When you’ve found the book you’re looking for, simply verify the price and add it to your rental cart. Amazon rents out items for a semester. Most students will be able to use the textbook until exams before returning it. However, students must not put off returning materials for too long. Depending on when your term concludes, you may only have two to three days to return the book to Amazon.
Students can get a 15-day extension on returning their textbooks for a charge. The charge is determined by the cost of the book. If you are unable to return the book within the 15-day period, you will be charged the full purchase amount (less any rental fees you have already paid). Most rentals are eligible for free two-day delivery if you have Amazon Student or Amazon Prime. All purchases over $35 are also eligible for free shipping. This is a huge benefit because textbooks are heavy to send and shipping costs can add up quickly.
If you lose or damage a book (or it is not returned on time), you will be charged the entire purchase price. Although you are unlikely to want it, Amazon will send the book back to you if it is deemed too damaged to be used as a rental book. When it’s time to return your textbook, log into your Amazon account and go to the textbook rental area. You can choose which books you want to return and print a packing slip and a mailing label. The publications can be returned for free.
In general, if you rent a book from Amazon, you must return it in the same condition you got it by the due date. If you do not do so, you will be charged the entire amount. However, if you discover that you do not require the textbook, you may be eligible for a complete refund. Returning a book within 30 days of renting it results in a complete refund. To receive the refund, you must return the textbook renting center, not the returns center.
